da betsson: In an exclusive interview with Football FanCast, former Premier League forward Dean Windass has backed West Brom boss Sam Allardyce to raid one of his old teams in the upcoming transfer window.
da aviator aposta: According to Football Insider, the new Baggies manager wants to make ex-West Ham and current Crystal Palace outcast James Tomkins his first signing at the Hawthorns.
The 66-year-old was only appointed a week ago, replacing the axed Slaven Bilic, and the aptly-named ‘firefighter’ was dealt a harsh lesson in his first game in charge as they were thrashed 3-0 by arch-rivals Aston Villa at the weekend.
It leaves the Midlands outfit second-from-bottom on just seven points, whilst only one other Premier League team has leaked more than their 29 goals conceded this term – fellow newcomers Leeds United (30).
And Windass believes the 31-year-old centre-back, who earns around £50k-per-week in south-east London, would be an ideal signing to make next month…
He told FFC:
“He’d be a good signing.
“James will want to play games, so that would be a good signing. I think he’d love the chance to play under Big Sam.”
Tomkins has slipped down the pecking order under Roy Hodgson this season, he’s been restricted to just one 27-minute appearance from the bench which came during the Eagles’ 7-0 drubbing by Liverpool, who Albion face this Sunday.
The £3.6m-rated defender has played more times for Big Sam than anyone else in his career with the PL veteran managing both West Ham and Palace.
Although it was ex-Baggies boss Alan Pardew that signed him at Selhurst Park for £10m in the summer of 2016.
Tomkins has featured in 156 matches under Allardyce, so a reunion could well be on the cards if he continues to be looked over in January.
AND in other news, Big Sam can right Bilic’s biggest WRONG with West Brom swoop for “talented” PL leader…
