da pinnacle: Football London’s Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold has said on Twitter that the “chase is over” for striker target Krzysztof Piatek, with the player set to join Hertha Berlin on a permanent deal instead.
Gold had reported previously that the AC Milan centre-forward was “the one Tottenham want” in a Q&A with fans, and that they had hoped to get a loan deal with an option to buy – similar to the one they completed for Gedson Fernandes earlier in the January transfer window – over the line.
That isn’t the case now though and the north London outfit may need to turn their attentions elsewhere if they do want to bring in a replacement for Harry Kane during his injury absence.
