da pinup bet: Steve Bruce has made an honest admission about Newcastle United’s frailties, as reported by The Chronicle reporter Ciaran Kelly.
What did he say?
da aposte e ganhe: The Magpies had been dominant in the first half of their FA Cup tie against Rochdale, but walked away from Spotland Stadium with a 1-1 draw, meaning there will be a replay.
They only managed the one goal in the game, which came from a well-taken Miguel Almiron strike, despite the team having had 18 shots throughout the 90 minutes – Joelinton alone had six.
Statistics such as that do not make good reading for Newcastle and Steve Bruce made an honest admission after the draw: “For how good we were in the first half, it was a big disappointment in the second half. The loss of Muto and Almiron so early certainly gave us another thing to think about. The frailties are pretty obvious – we don’t score enough”

Concerning signs
The lack of goals being scored by Newcastle is not exclusive to the FA Cup, as only Watford and Crystal Palace have scored fewer Premier League goals this campaign than their 20.
It says a lot about Newcastle’s struggles in front of goal that Jonjo Shelvey is their top scorer, with five goals in all competitions.

Outside of that, Almiron, Ciaran Clark, Federico Fernandez, Fabian Schar, Jetro Willems and Matthew Longstaff all have more than any of the club’s out-and-out strikers with two each.
There is a definite issue that Bruce and his colleagues need to solve, whether that is in the transfer window or on the training field.
Bruce discussed the possibility of an offensive signing being made after the game: “We’ve had a couple of knock backs already so we’ll keep working away. It’s very, very difficult, especially at that end of the pitch to get something and to get something that will make you better is difficult.”
That certainly is not convincing from the Magpies manager, exactly like the performances from his strikers at the moment.
In other news, Newcastle have been dealt a transfer setback following midfielder’s injury.
