da premier bet: Chelsea are considering abandoning their attempts to sign Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric The Sun understands.
da lvbet: The Croatian playmaker has been a target for new Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas all summer but has seen numerous bids rejected from Spurs.
Officials at White Hart Lane have already rejected Chelsea’s highest offer of £27 million, which just falls under their valuation.
Manager Harry Redknapp has also stated that the 25-year-old is going nowhere and Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck is unsure if the club will press ahead with another offer.
Buck told The Sun: “Most clubs don’t want to talk about players they are interested in but the Modric situation became public.
“We did make an offer, it has rejected and I don’t know if it will go any further. We will have to see.
“Andre didn’t give us a shopping list but he did tell us where he thought we could improve.”
Modric has already stated his desire to leave the club this summer and move to Stamford Bridge this summer where he will be guaranteed Champions League football.
Despite this Spurs aren’t going to let him go cheaply and won’t accept any offer that comes in below the £30 million valuation that sits on the playmakers head.
Villas-Boas may now turn his attentions to other targets with Neymar still on his radar along with Porto’s Alvaro Pereira.
