According to Wiw Sport, Leicester have joined Arsenal in the race to sign highly promising winger Ismaila Sarr.
The 21-year-old has been earning rave reviews in France this season, scoring an impressive tally of goals for Rennes. He’s developed into a top talent since joining from Metz two seasons ago and we could soon see the Senegalese international arrive in the Premier League.
The report claims that the Foxes may have to pay around £25m for his services, which would be a considerable outlay for a side such as Leicester.
As a result, they may find it difficult to compete with Arsenal should both teams follow up in their interest.
Sarr is a player blessed with pace whilst he also appears to have a devastating end product. So with that being said, Football FanCast writers have given their verdict on whether he’d be a success in the Premier League if Brendan Rodgers completes a move. Here’s what they’ve said.
Luke Glanville:
“Ismaila Sarr has now surely outgrown Ligue 1 and Stade Rennais. A combined total of over 20 goals and assists this season proves that. There would be no better way for the starlet to test his quality by joining the Premier League. And there’s nothing to suggest he wouldn’t be a success if he does so, though maybe not right away. It would make sense for the Senegal international to join a club like Leicester City rather than a member of the “Big Six.” However, the Foxes must approach with some caution and not pay over the odds of his market value of £25 million. They have been bitten before with a very similar player in Ahmed Musa.”
Jack Saville:
“There is absolutely no doubt that Sarr has the ability to light up the King Power Stadium next season. Chilwell would be in dreamland with a player of the 21-year-old’s ability ahead of him, as his tendency to cut inside to influence proceedings will create plenty of space for the left-back to exploit. His outstanding return of goals and assists speaks for itself. Leicester fans may have to be patient as Florian Thauvin’s awful time at Newcastle proves that the switch from Ligue 1 to the Premier League is not always seamless, but in time he should prove to be a masterstroke signing.”

James Beavis:
“I really think he would be. The Senegal international is a player that would make Leicester’s frontline even more exciting, given the pace and quality that he has. While the 21-year-old winger may not be as cheap as Riyad Mahrez was when the Foxes signed the Algerian, his ability to cut inside and shoot means he is really similar to Mahrez in more ways than one.”
