da dobrowin: It’s fair to say that new West Ham signing Gokhan Tore will bring a whole manner of qualities with him when he starts up at West Ham this summer.
da betsson: The Turkish international brings with him a wealth of talent and controversy after signing on a one-year loan deal from Besiktas but in truth, he is one of football’s most remarkable stories.
Gun battles, growing up as an orphan and tearing the national team apart are just a handful of events that have happened during Tore’s life but on the football pitch, he could be massive for the Hammers this season.
He’s a talented young man who needs a bit of direction and thankfully it is Slaven Bilic who will be managing the winger next season. He found his best form when Bilic was at the Besiktas helm a couple of years ago, so could the Croation do it again?
With that in mind, here’s FIVE reasons why Tore could be huge for the Hammers next season…
When in form…
When Tore is in form, he really is a quality looking player. Tore found the back of the net four times in the 2013-2014 season, whilst providing eight assists too.
But it was over the next season where he really shone, dispatching nine times and assisting eleven, firmly cementing himself as one of the best players in the league.
When he’s in-form and playing well, he could be an asset to any team.
He has been a wanted man
Over the past couple of years, he’s been linked with some seriously high-profile moves with the likes of Arsenal thought to be considering a move at the start of the summer.
West Ham’s ability to win the race for his signature shows just how much the club has grown in the past few years and there is real hope Tore can perform to the highest of levels.
He’s got some serious skills
As you can see in the above video, the one-time Rubin Kazan man has some serious trickery in his locker.
Cruyff-turns, pull-backs and flip-flops are just some of the skills we’ve seen during his time in Turkey and these traits are things West Hams can be seriously excited about.
He will only make Dimitri Payet better
Healthy competition only serves to make the best even better. In reality, Tore isn’t going to easily waltz into what is an extremely strong West Ham side.
Bilic has already brought in Sofiane Feghouli and there is also Manuel Lanzini and Michail Antonio waiting in the wings, both of whom did well last season.
He’s young and still has potential
At 24-years-old, Tore still has plenty of time ahead of him to improve.
He’s signed a one-year loan deal with the Hammers with a view to a permanent deal, so in essence, Tore is on trial this season and what a great season he has to prove himself.
He’s got the Olympic Stadium at his feet, a European venture and all the tools needed to re-find the form he once showed under Bilic.
