da 888casino: It’s been a real mixed bag for Arsenal so far this season.
da betobet: The Gunners started this season pretty woefully against Liverpool and could have been really humiliated before they managed to regroup and win two of their last three games.
The win against Watford seemed to suggest the club were back to their best but then against Southampton, despite winning, they looked pretty stale.
It’s hard to read into their league form at the moment then and their Champions League start this season hardly made things much clearer. For most of the game against PSG they were completely played off of the park but somehow stuck in there and managed to salvage a draw.
It wasn’t the most inspiring performance though and you have to say, a number of Arsenal players need to raise their game.
We’ve teamed up with 7 Of The Best to bring you a footballing treat for the season. It’s free to play and the best individual score each week wins £500, the highest scoring team wins £1,500 a week and there is a prize of £2,000 for the best individual over the course of a month. Want to win bigger? Nab yourself a whopping £500k if you get all seven of your selections correct for seven consecutive weeks.
So keeping with that theme, here are seven Gunners players that have to improve this season…
Olivier Giroud
The Frenchman came on with the opportunity to save the game for Arsenal against PSG but instead it was Alexis Sanchez who did the honours whilst Giroud’s only notable contribution was getting sent off.
He must be one of the most frustrating players around to watch given that when he is on form he’s a good player but unless he gets back to that quickly, Arsenal won’t be winning the league.

Granit Xhaka
Xhaka was signed this Summer with the idea in mind he’d be the key holding midfielder the Gunners needed and he’s certainly made an impression so far but not always for the right reasons.
He came with the reputation for conceding fouls and he’s lived up to that so far but he really needs to curb that to truly be what the Gunners want. It’s all very well being tough in the centre but he needs to add some nous to it.
[ad_pod id=’7OTB’ align=’center’]
Francis Coquelin
With Xhaka demonstrating such a lack of discipline Coquelin should be taking advantage of that and simply isn’t. He’s got the ability to compete at this level and indeed with the Swiss international but just doesn’t seem consistent enough to do so at the moment. Some games he looks like the player Arsenal want and other’s he gets overawed, it’s time to stamp that out.
[ad_pod id=’7OTB’ align=’center’]
Mesut Ozil
Ozil has just the one goal this season and for a player with his ability that isn’t really good enough. He started last season very well and looked like he was going to overhaul Thierry Henry’s record number of assists in a season but seemed to fizzle out. Whilst he shouldn’t be tiring this early in the season he certainly needs to find some form because he was key to Arsenal looking like title challengers for the first half of 2015/16.
[ad_pod id=’7OTB’ align=’center’]
Alex Iwobi
Iwobi shone at times last season but hasn’t really made the same impression this season so far. In the games he’s played he’s been pretty quiet and when there are clearly places up for grabs at this stage of the season, that won’t do him any favours. He could be a real star if he manages to nail a place down in the team but so far this season he hasn’t really threatened to do so.
[ad_pod id=’7OTB’ align=’center’]
Nacho Monreal
Monreal has been trusted by Arsene Wenger to be Arsenal’s main left-back in the absence of Kieran Gibbs but it speaks volumes that in that time he hasn’t made you think: ‘How on Earth is Gibbs going to get back in this side?’ With all due respect, Gibbs isn’t the best full-back in the league so the Spaniard had a real chance to make this position his own. Put simply, he hasn’t done so.
[ad_pod id=’7OTB’ align=’center’]
Lucas Perez
It’s very early days admittedly but Arsene Wenger decided to go with Alexis Sanchez ahead of him and Giroud up front for Arsenal against PSG and that says a lot. Perez still has time to get used to his team-mates and improve but if, as a striker, you can’t get ahead of a player, albeit a great one, that isn’t a striker something is wrong. He needs to show he’s good enough for this league and ultimately prove Wenger right for buying him.
